SERP2000 News July '26

Sometimes I wonder where the time goes; it seems that no sooner had we cleared away the last pop-up-pub that the next one was upon us. The weather was again glorious and the turnout was, if anything even bigger than last time. Well done to everyone on the SERP committee for their continued hard work as always. We owe a special thanks to Mel and Paul for their time and efforts setting up the bar and working so hard throughout the evening and everyone who stepped forward to do a stint behind the bar a massive thank you! It’s very gratifying to see how much these events mean to the local community, and we must also thank our sponsors – Sunbeam Watercress and Tony’s Fish & Chips. Thank you! Your support makes a huge difference to us and we’re so very grateful. No Pop-up-Pub for August as we’ve the wonderful Sherfest on Saturday the 15th instead. The bands will be rocking, the grill will be heating up some delicious food and no doubt the drinks will be flying over the bar. We’re looking forward to seeing you all there and can’t wait for another day of fun, music, food, drink and socialising with friends, family and neighbours. News from the Pavillion Behind the scenes we’re continuing to work out how we continue to fund improvements to the pitches and other recreational facilities plus we’re working out how to tackle our sewerage system to make sure it’s up and running for the future. It’s in a bit of a pickle at the moment and we’ve been applying for grants and other support to address this. We’re always open to ideas as to how we can improve the ways in which we serve the community, so please do let us have your thoughts and ideas.
