SE Bowls Club win against Downtown, Match report 07/07/26

Due to the heat, the match against Downton was put back to 6pm instead of playing in the sweltering heat of the afternoon. Sherfield continued their winning streak against local clubs.

The match was played in a friendly atmosphere with the home team victorious in 3 of the 4 rinks played. The final score was 61 - 43.

Many thanks to Jean who played for the away team and Jenny H who took the place of a Downton player during the match.

Downton always enjoy our hospitality and we look forward to the return fixture in a week’s time.

Final Result:

Rink 2:   Won  24 - 7   Always in control, winning with a large margin 

Rink 3:   Won  12 - 9   A close game right up to the final end

Rink 4:   Lost  11 - 17  A late run by Downton ensured a victory

Rink 5:   Won  14 - 10  Never behind, Sherfield winning comfortably
