Pooh's Hundredth Birthday Journey

Christopher Robin woke early on the morning of 4th July 2026. He remembered something special was happening., so he went to find Pooh to remind him. Pooh was sitting on his log near his house in 100 AKER WOOD and humming to himself. ‘Hallo Pooh’, said Christopher Robin, ‘are you ready?’ ‘Ready for what’ answered Pooh, ‘it is your hundredth birthday today and we are going to a special celebration’! ‘Oh dear’ said Pooh, ‘I was going to visit Piglet and Eeyore’. Christopher Robin said not to worry he might see them shortly anyway. And so it was that Christopher Robin and Pooh set out on their journey to St Leonards Church, Sherfield English in Hampshire (a long journey from 100 AKER WOOD). As they travelled along, Pooh hummed to himself to keep his spirits up and Christopher Robin shared some SPESHULHUNNY sandwiches, so they were not too hungry. They reached St. Leonards Church and walked up the path where some very friendly people hugged them and welcomed them in. Someone found a discarded wheelchair so that Christopher Robin could hold Pooh on his lap and show him all the windows where Pooh’s life was depicted in exquisitely portrayed knitting wools and scenery which came straight from 100 AKER WOOD. Pooh was astounded at seeing all his life experiences before his very eyes. He loved re living his experiences, but felt a little tummy ache when he saw ALL HIS FRIENDS joining in a long queue each holding on and PULLING him out of the hole he got stuck in. He stopped to have a game of POOH STICKS on the bridge over the river and admired the beautiful wildlife along the way, he even rested awhile under what he thought was a real tree (Christopher Robin didn’t tell him it was made of cardboard) and he thanked Christopher Robin for walking the long way with him to show him the wonderful creations. After enjoying a very SPESHUL day, Christopher Robin and Pooh made their way slowly back to 100 AKER WOOD, tired but very happy to have spent happy hours remembering all their life experiences as they enfolded window by window, wall by wall. (Just to let you into a secret, I met Pooh and Christopher Robin as they made their way and persuaded them to accept a lift, which gave me the opportunity of sharing their experience!) A visitor from afar.
