SE Bowls - phew...a close win for return match
With threatening rain clouds overhead, the match started on time and, as the sun broke through, rain jackets were soon removed.
The green was in excellent condition, line and length were true throughout.
After last week’s close defeat, Sherfield hoped for a victory. All four rinks were close at the halfway stage and this continued until the end with both teams sharing the rinks 2 – 2.
Once again, the points total was the deciding factor.
The first count made it a draw, but after close scrutiny, one point was found to have been missed. Happily, the missing point went to Sherfield, who won the match 66 - 65.

Rink 1: Lost 11 - 17. Close match until the final 3 ends.
Rink 2: Won 22 – 14 Consistent play by Bernie, Jenny M and Jackie throughout
Rink 3: Lost. 13 – 21 Alderbury on top in the final third.
Rink 4: Won 20 – 13 Sherfield finished strongly. Well done Cathy, Geoff & Terry.
