SERP2000 News Like everyone we have been enjoying the better weather with the promise of more to come. It really does make our hearts sing. Not least by contributing to making our 1st Pop-up-Pub a resounding success. It was a fabulous evening - relaxed adults and happy children making very good use of both the children’s playground and the football goalposts until the sun said goodnight. We had a number of offers of help both with the planning of future ‘pubs’ and also to take a stint at serving. Please don’t be shy and do get in touch as we are a small committee and would very much appreciate extra support. You can mail serp@sherfieldenglish.org.uk for information. Come rain or shine the bar will be open for the next PuP on 10th July (our trusted marquee will be put into service if needed). See you there. SherFest 2026 Saturday 15th August Plans are moving forward with our summer music evening and we have some great entertainment for you with something to suit all….. Eddie Vortex, George Benn, Aged in Oak, Boodle, Sandcastle Kings, Loose Change…. More to come in August’s SEDCA. The Sherfield players. Our fabulous football teams are now on their well earned break for the summer although the manager will still keep working them hard! New teams are being built as I write and we will update you soon. If you are interested in playing then please contact the women’s team on sherfieldenglishwomenfc@gmail.com and for the men’s teams either through social media or sherfieldenglishfootballclub@yahoo.com To the netballers out there. The lovely Helen will welcome you to either the Monday or Wednesday evening games. It’s great having cricket back in the village after a number of years with a Whiteparish Cricket Club team playing for the summer. Please contact Berny. Much done, so much more to do. We are so grateful to everyone who helped us with phase one of our renovations and it’s time for phase 2 to begin. As part of our efforts to keep the playing fields as up-to-date and as relevant as we possibly can for everyone, we would like your help please. Could you drop us a line: serp@sherfieldenglish.org.uk explaining perhaps how you engage with the sports ground - including the pavilion, or how you’d like to see us develop, or what you think we’ve done that’s good or bad over the last couple of years. Or just simply saying how you appreciate all the efforts made for the benefit of the Village. Community feedback is really important to us in trying to build up our profile when applying for new grants and new facilities for your village recreation ground. Thank you !!! See you there soon.
