A big Hello from us all at SERP and an even bigger THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for our 3rd SherFest Music event on Saturday 15th August 2026. What a wonderful evening! Our little committee work hard to put together events for all our community which everyone can enjoy and this SherFest definitely seems to have been spot on. The weather was just hot enough, and the beer was just cold enough. The replacement gas BBQs (the charcoal giant put to rest in this drought) kept up with the demand of our hungry guests and the dry pitches made super-cycle fun for the children. The musicians who gave their time were excellent! We must extend a huge thanks to them all - Eddie Vortex, George Benn, Aged in Oak, Boodle, Sandcastle Kings and Loose Change. There was something for everyone. We are very fortunate to be supported by so many local businesses and individuals. Thank you to Chalkstream Trout for sponsoring a barrel of beer, to Chris for the use of his terrific marquee and to the muscles who gave their time to erect it, to the generous drone pilot who captured the scene of a great evening. The SERP committee are a superb team together with the ever willing volunteers, as they say, ‘teamwork is the dreamwork’ and it was certainly the case, and they all deserve a huge thank you! This team are already looking towards the next Pop-up-Pub on Friday 11th September and our thoughts are wandering to the fireworks night in November with fingers crossed for some rain before. News from the Pavilion The football season is about to kick off but sadly the pitches are not yet playable. The irony. Last season waterlogged and now no grass at all to play on. At least we know that when rain comes the new drains will be able to send far more water away. Jerome Hoffman Chair, SERP2000
